This is the part where I tell you a bit about me. I'm glad you chose to click here because I like to know people deeper than their work too.
I've been freelancing as a product designer for over 3 years. I started out as a transportation engineer (my research helped make roads safer), which brought me to beautiful British Columbia from the east coast of Canada where I grew up.
I loved the puzzle of engineering, but needed more creativity and people-driven problem-solving, which led me to product design (I wrote about how I did this here and made a video too).
Speaking of videos, I spent a few years publishing over 100 videos on Youtube. It's no longer a project I work on, but I've left some of my favourites up. Story-telling is a core part of my identity, I write about design on Medium, and personal essays on Substack.
New York is my favourite city in the world, I try to visit at least once a year. I recharge by spending time outdoors, which Vancouver Island is perfect for. My shih-tzu named Gus makes me laugh every day. Right now I'm reading The Creative Act by Rick Rubin and learning to sew.
I love to make new friends and am happy to help new designers, so doesn't hesitate to say hello :)
